Close Collaboration with Parents training
Close Collaboration with Parents training is an educational program for multi-professional staff in neonatal units (e.g. NICU, neonatal intensive care unit), aiming to improve the collaboration between the staff and parents and parenting support. The family-centered care culture of a NICU is improved by the implementation of the training in the NICU.
The Close Collaboration with Parents training has been developed in Finland and has been spread throughout the world. More than 30 units in about 10 countries have completed or are implementing the training so far. In Japan, Nagano Children’s Hospital NICU in Azumino started the implementation in 2023. The mentors of the Nagano Children’s Hospital will soon be available to provide training in Japanese.
